MACHINE HEAD's FLYNN Takes On His A&R Guy In THE VAULT's 'Battle Of The Month'
June 10, 2003Roadrunner Records Head of A&R Monte Conner and MACHINE HEAD frontman Robert Flynn go head-to-head in this month's "Battle Of The Month" — a friendly competition designed to test their knowledge of Roadrunner history.
Each month in The Vault — a special section of the Roadrunner web site where hard rock fans can access the label's entire catalog on a pay-per-download basis — a new battle is featured: one Roadrunner employee vs. one band member. The competitors are asked to give their Top 10 picks from The Vault and provide explanations for their selections... in addition to trading some friendly jabs along the way.
Last month it was Roadrunner's very own Marc Schapiro taking on SLIPKNOT's Joey Jordison. This month, Conner — the man behind some of the company's most successful signings (cough, cough) — takes on Flynn, the person responsible for one of the biggest debuts in Roadrunner history, 1994's "Burn My Eyes".
